Location: Planet Organic, 22 Torrington Pl, Bloomsbury, London, WC1E 7HJ

As requested by our Freelance WhatsApp group!

New to the freelance steeze or thinking of taking the plunge? We've got Lucinda Gosling on hand to host a round table discussing the highs and lows. Join us for a tea / coffee and a pastry (included) to meet other likeminded Copy Club members.

Lucinda's been mostly freelance for nearly 8 years, having jumped ship from ad full-time agency life. She juggles a "portfolio" of projects from working with David Attenborough and the BBC on anti-plastics campaign, re-launching Al Jazeera Chidrens Channel across the Middle East, creating the Mallow & Marsh brand from scratch and spent the last year(!) working 4 days a week with Vice whilst juggling teaching yoga, she even once made time to dance in the Olympic Opening Ceremony - and is a good port of call for advice for those new to the freelance world.

This session will cover:

  • The basic Do's and Don'ts of freelance - i.e. when's the right time to go freelance, thoughts on finances, holding your nerve and how to keep sane.
  • Professional Growth as a freelancer
  • Top tips and useful references - from the the best cafes to work in, to how to avoid a shock when your tax is due and chasing getting paid.
  • AQA

Lucinda Gosling is a creative brand strategist, responsible for positioning and advertising for major global brands as well as branding/identity work for start-ups. She's also a yoga teacher based in Hackney.
