Description
We are looking for creatives and educators to join our small and passionate team, delivering after school clubs in London, particularly WEST London and SOUTH London.
ABOUT THE LONDON LENS PROJECT
We deliver dynamic photography and animation after school workshops for KS2 in primary schools across London. Our clubs focus on developing kids' creativity, imagination and confidence, through play and connection.
WHO WE WANT
We're looking for someone who is available for 3-5 days a week (Monday to Friday) to deliver these lessons after school (usually for 1 to 1.5 hours, between 3:30pm and 5:30pm) in schools across London, particularly West London and South London. The clubs run for between 10 and 14 weeks. We supply equipment and lessons plans.
WHEN AND WHERE?
We are currently offering contracts for the SPRING TERM (early January to late March 2024) in WEST London and SOUTH London (Wandsworth, Lambeth, Merton, Sutton).
REQUIREMENTS
There are no formal qualifications required for this position, but we do ask that you have experience in working with young people. Most of our Tutors are artists, photographers, illustrators and educators. If you also know about photography, film or animation, this will be helpful (but not necessary).
We take Safeguarding seriously. Because you will be working with young people, we require all Tutors to hold:
- Enhanced DBS and Children's Barred List check (we can help with this) and photo ID
- Prohibition from Teaching Check
- Public Liability Insurance certificate
- First Aid Training
- Safeguarding Training
- Right to Work
If you don't have the above documents, we can help you obtain the documents. Please note that the Enhanced DBS can take some time, so let us know as soon as possible.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS
Please apply directly to the London Lens Project by submitting a short application questionnaire. If your application is successful, we will invite you to a short online interview. Then, if we both wish to move forward, we will invite you to attend an Assisting/Training Day, to support you to feel confident in delivering lessons. After that, you've got a flexible, fun and rewarding job! We are also open to longer term arrangements for the right applicants.
