(For best experience, watch in HD + sound on) Took the road less travelled to Machu Picchu and I'm glad I did.. We were practically the only ones on the quiet trail, crossing streams, waterfalls, herds of wildlife - llamas and alpacas. From endless green, to snow capped mountains..a magical few days of hiking through Peruvian culture and taste of Andean life allowed us to interact with the locals along the way. If it's one recurring theme during my time in Peru, it's Simplicity. I loved seeing the locals smile and laugh with each other. One tourist asked a lady if she considered moving to the city, and the lovely Peruvian lady replied, "we have all we need here." It made me smile. When you simplify, you realise how little you actually need to be content. Sometimes I imagine if we all subtracted technology, and all these 'things' then we would have more room to experience human connections and really be present. Focus on relationships and experiences. Not things. You'll be amazed at how freeing it is, giving you more room to focus on what's important. GRACIAS PERU!
