Spark, the branded content department within The Telegraph, is in need of a Commercial Producer to work within the newly formed commercial photography and video team helping to create and deliver video for branded content partnerships between The Telegraph and its advertising clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Head of Photography & Video, Creative Director and Video Creative to oversee, formulate and deliver video content.

  • Overseeing production logistics of shoots from concept through to delivery, managing all practical aspects and ensuring productions run smoothly.

  • Adaptable production skills across a range of content and genres from interviews to short social videos across multiple subjects such as lifestyle, sport, travel, business and finance.

  • Create effective working relationships with a range of production agencies, directors, videographers and crews to suit the range and breadth of the content we produce.

  • Create production estimates for suggested treatments and productions quickly and accurately.

  • Budget tracking throughout live projects, highlighting any potential issues to ensure all projects come in on budget.

  • Work closely with the Head of Photography & Video and the photography team to ensure photography and video treatments and campaigns are fully aligned and best teams are selected for each campaign.

  • Manage and lead development of the Production Assistant.

  • Manage team resourcing - holidays, absence and freelance bookings.

  • Manage team workflow, allocations and budgets through WorkFront working alongside the Studio Manager.

  • Managing workflow of video production on a daily basis and sourcing additional resource as and when required.

  • Develop and maintain solid working relationships within the commercial team and outside of it to strengthen the role of the Photography & Video commercial department.

  • Assisting other team members with production of smaller video shoots.

  • Attending shoots and recces as required.

  • Display a positive and appropriate attitude on set when working alongside external clients and agencies.

  • Attend kick-off meetings, internal management and production meetings and external client meetings, and deputise for Head of Photography & Video as required.

  • Use initiative to solve problems and know when to seek advice. Good awareness of the targets of the business and how the team contributes to this.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience of production leadership in video content.

  • Highly organised with experience managing multiple projects and prioritising tasks to deliver high-budget projects successfully and to deadlines.

  • Willingness to share knowledge and skills with the wider photography and video team.

  • Excellent knowledge of video and stills production companies with existing relationships in place.

  • Experienced working in a busy, fast­ paced professional environment.
    Solid understanding of health & safety, risk assessments, compliance and IP.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • A positive, collaborative attitude and ability to work on multiple projects at one time.

  • Excellent management skills.

  • Ability to pro-actively and positively think of solutions to meet client's budgets and changing client requirements.

  • Display a collaborative attitude to problem-solving and creative development and able to work on multiple projects at one time.

  • Constantly assess new ways of working more efficiently and creatively, be open and flexible to suggestions.

  • Able to take direction and work as part of a small but dynamic, fast moving team.

  • Be pro-active, use initiative and problem solve.

  • Excellent in Microsoft Office and Google Docs.

  • Experience in producing branded content video desirable, as well as production/shoot experience overseas (but not essential).
