We are looking for a freelance graphic designer to join our team and help us to develop a range of content to support young people to engage in politics and elections.
The role will include developing materials for both The Politics Project and Democracy Classroom and will include creating content for our website, social media, education resources and print.

We support young people to use their voice by providing them with outstanding democratic education. We work with young people, teachers and politicians to help them to learn, teach and engage in politics. We are a non-partisan organisation working across the UK. We are experts in supporting young people and politicians to engage through meaningful conversations.
ABOUT DEMOCRACY CLASSROOM
Coordinated by The Politics Project, Democracy Classroom is a partnership between over 80 civil society organisations that supports young people to engage in elections. The network is in an exciting period of growth as we prepare to support educators and youth workers to help young people engage in the next UK General Election. Through our resources platform, resources and support we want to ensure young people feel supported to engage in the next General Election. Help us to make sure that young people get their voices heard.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a freelance opportunity. The Politics Project is based in central London, though the freelancer can work remotely.
We will ask the freelancer to:
Design content for our existing websites – The Politics Project and Democracy Classroom.
Support with the design of assets for a range of social media channels.
Visually design a range of teaching and learning materials for schools and youth organisations.
Skills and Experience Required
You will have a passion for democratic engagement and will use that passion to support the delivery and growth of the Democracy Classroom network and The Politics Project.
You are comfortable working with a range of people from different backgrounds and perspectives. You have the ability to work under pressure and effectively deliver to agreed deadlines.
You will have:
An excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
Experience of designing and producing multimedia content including print, web and video.
A strong, varied portfolio of well-executed design work, including designs for campaigns running across multiple platforms.
A passion for youth democratic engagement, education and politics.
Hours Freelance, with an expectation of 50 hours of work per month
Salary £18 per hour
