About the Job

This position entails providing design assets for a wide range of projects and initiatives including branding, web design, software, social media, digital and print marketing, and more. You will contribute to copywriting, branding decisions, and client directives.

You will communicate directly with stakeholders, managers, and developers as needed throughout project lifecycles.

Additionally, this role may be asked to perform some project management responsibilities, and assist in client support and internal training related initiatives.

As a designer, this person will also work with the leadership to discuss and execute strategic planning for the business and promote the business goals in the execution of daily tasks.

Skills and Experience

You must provide a solid portfolio demonstrating your skills and experience.

Essential:

  • Web, Print, and Graphic Design || 5+ years of experience
  • Identity Planning & Design || 5+ years experience
  • User Interface Design (UI) || 5+ years experience
  • Expert with Figma || 2+ years of experience
  • Expert with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign || 5+ years of experience
  • Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and modern front-end technologies
  • Knowledge and experience designing for and overseeing design implementation in Wordpress and similar content management systems

Nice to Have:

  • User Experience (UX) design experience
  • SaaS Concept Development
  • Copywriting
  • Adobe Lightroom
  • Illustration/Art abilities
  • Drupal, Symphony, Javascript, React, Shopify, and other systems

Responsibilities

Design responsibilities may include:

  • Gathering and delivering relevant project assets to and from Clients
  • Gathering and delivering relevant project assets to and from Team
  • Discussing, planning, assessing, and accurately estimating design task completion time
  • Creating original logo and brand concepts for a variety of clients, industries, and styles
  • Understanding, planning, and executing simple as well as complex web design projects within budget and on schedule
  • Working with existing assets of varied quality to produce new assets as needed
  • Create new assets and designs based on existing brand & style guidelines
  • Provide feedback on existing designs
  • Training and managing Jr. designers
  • Create intuitive interface designs for a variety of web applications
  • Create and deliver print-ready designs in a variety of formats
  • Prepare and export assets ready for developers
  • Be available to co-workers and clients during regular business hours, 9 am to 5 pm (Central Standard Time)
  • Weekly/monthly/quarterly updates with clients with ongoing projects; detailed reports on milestones and deliverables
  • Work with Technical Lead to determine outcome based ticket, sprint, and project scope.
  • Determine and define clear deliverables for specific projects or initiatives.
  • Enforce team communication standards with ticket descriptions, comments, handoff meetings, and acceptance criteria.

Project Management responsibilities may include

  • Communicate with clients to maintain project scope, timeline, and budget parameters throughout design projects.
  • Achieving Project Objectives as laid out in Approved Proposals and Tickets
  • Effectively use organizational resources to managing Projects and Support
  • Project Planning: Analyze, plan and develop requirements and standards in reference to scheduled projects
  • Plan ticket Monitoring and Controlling for any issue that may arise to alter Scope or Schedule
  • Review project documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Demonstrate understanding of Project Management processes, strategies and methods
  • Develop and implements team evaluations
  • Enforce technical team standards
