Sustainability Series

Sustainability Series presents a gorgeous look created by sustainable cosmetics except for eye shadow and eye brow make-ups, i.e., Dior plus Hourglass. Eye shadows and eye brow pens and pencils made of sustainable ingredients are also available on market. Yet, I am not using the two categories of sustainable cosmetics more often like other categories. I, therefore, stop the procurements in the first place. At the centre of sustainability cosmetics era is the principle of consuming less. The more you consume, the more environmental impacts you are bringing to the planet. As you feel assured of the sustainable ingredients, you consume even more and the environmental impacts could be worse than sticking with mainstream cosmetics made of chemical elements. Undoubtedly, without long hour wearing make-ups of strong chemical elements, you would become less concerned about potential damages towards skin conditions.

BTW, being sustainable doesn't mean compromising on any finishing effects. Being sustainable, instead, means going beyond existing level of perfection. 5 cosmetics labelled with illuminating and/or sparkling effects are enhancing the gorgeous finish.
To be transparent, the above are all the sustainable cosmetics I use within the current series. I don't have to combine any conventional cosmetics with sustainable ones to reach a flawless finish at each stage. For example, the INIKA foundation alone could give you a flawless finish that you could trust. You don't have to add any foundations that you have been relying on to reach perfection on top of the sustainable compact foundation. Nowadays sustainable cosmetics give you the highest possible flawless finishes including contour looks almost the same as or even better than mainstream ones containing strong chemical elements.
When it comes to sustainable cosmetics, consumers understanding the mechanism know it deeply. Whereas it could be a completely blined world for customers who haven't been paying attention to. The listed cosmetics of sustainable ingredients are available on major market shelves and in online stores across the globe. While the pioneers have been predominately concentrated in the US. Recently, almost every region has been developing and launched world well-known sustainable cosmetics brands. I will introduce them where appropriate.
If you are interested in the ingredients, you could find interesting elements such as Zea Mays/Corn Starch, which raises a critical question on how to balance competing human demands in commercialised world when we are exploiting various eco-systems. Though corns are natural raw materials for sustainable cosmetics production, the relevant farming keeps consuming plenty of water during irrigation. Competing human demands, for example, from food and beverage industry and restaurant industry would mean the natural resources, though at low costs, couldn't bear unlimited exploitation. Sustainability in cosmetics, thus, points out to the requirements for each stage being sustainable, i.e., ranging from design and production to market launch and delivery.
