Nuclear Dawn Brewday @ Brixton Brewery
Our second pre-launch beer 'Nuclear Dawn' is a berliner-weiss with a distinctly Brixton Town feel made in collaboration with our friends at Brixton Brewery. A kettle sour packed with the tropical fruits of papaya and mango and other botanicals all found in Brixton Market.
The beer has been named after a mural local to Brixton Brewery faded by weather, obscured graffiti it has been threatened by redevelopment many time.
Completed in 1981 by artist Brian Barnes, who has kindly consented a depiction of the mural in the beers label artwork and in our animation piece, the mural depicts the tensions and anxieties of the nuclear face-off of the Cold War during the 1980s. It’s an iconic piece of London and global history, which feels uncomfortably current in these turbulent times.
We are running a Mural Competition and winners can meet the Nuclear Dawn artist Brian Barnes at our beer launch on 28th October 12-8pm at Brixton Brewery.
