This event will celebrate everything the resident-led community group SO18 have achieved in the area over the last 10 years at their community hub. We are celebrating the shared lived experience of all we’ve worked with over the years. We have always been a small dedicated resident led group and with our overarching theme of Jigsaw, we have brought people together, to work together and to make connections. We are going to celebrate us all being together because of SO18BL.
The Open House event on the 22nd is aimed at all our fabulous volunteers and ex-partnership committee members we’ve had the pleasure of working with. It is an open house drop in event during the afternoon finishing at about 7.00pm. We shall be showing our farewell video on a loop and, as far as I think, there will be no formal words etc. A relaxed get together between old friends!
The principle purpose of this photography project is to capture the many people who have made this community project what it is, the celebratory atmosphere, any key individuals (e.g. the community partnership members and volunteers), speeches, local people at the event interacting, and any other activities taking place.
Where possible the images should showcase people of different ages and ethnic backgrounds interacting, enjoying each others company and spending time together. Pictures of children should be avoided as they can present issues surrounding consent. This may be difficult but where possible try to ensure their faces can’t been seen – it’s understandable that this won’t always be possible.
These photographs should be high quality and to a standard that would allow them to be used in print publications. The images will be used primarily for online content such as blogs and social media following the event but will also be used in our annual report.
