As a worldwide leader, GiveMeSport operates at a rapid pace and is always looking for experienced and passionate contributors who can create original high-quality content in a timely manner.
GiveMeSport (GMS) is looking for a New Trends Writer with a proven track record of creating written content that generates referral traffic from Facebook.
This role is for someone who understands what makes sports content work on social media — from spotting the right story or trend, to writing a compelling headline and packaging an article in a way that drives clicks and engagement.
Your Responsibilities
- Ideate and produce timely sports articles designed specifically to generate referral traffic from Facebook
- Create promotional images on Facebook to generate referral traffic, leaning heavily into click incentive and engagement.
- Write compelling, curiosity-driven headlines that encourage Facebook users to click through to the article
- Identify emerging stories, trends, debates and talking points across a range of sports
- Produce a minimum of 6 articles per shift, working efficiently in a fast-paced publishing environment
- Adapt content ideas and headlines based on what is performing with audiences
- Monitor content performance and use data to inform future story ideas, headlines and content packaging
- Work closely with editors and the wider content team to identify opportunities for high-performing traffic
- Maintain strong editorial standards, accuracy and attention to detail while working at speed

- Experience ideating, headlining and creating content specifically for Google Discover and/or Google Search
- 3-5 years experience ideating and headlining written content specifically to generate referral traffic from Facebook
- Experience creating promotional images on Facebook to generate referral traffic, leaning heavily into click incentive and engagement.
- A demonstrable understanding of what makes content clickable and shareable on Facebook
- A track record of producing content that has generated meaningful Facebook referral traffic
- Familiarity with analytics tools and using performance data to improve content strategy
- Experience working in a high-volume digital publishing environment
