THE IMPACT OF HUSTLE CULTURE

Is there such a thing as a work-work balance? Like the thrill of a giant roller coaster, chasing down clients, securing new projects and reaching new career heights is an exciting ride, but after a while, that queasy feeling catches up with you and the rush wears off. Since becoming a freelance writer, I’ve never experienced that pre-work Sunday night anxiety, I tend to feel it from Monday through to Friday! The stress of my workload whilst on the lookout for new opportunities weighs heavy on my mind. While I always allocate time to job searching, hustling to find new clients has a tendancy to get in the way of the work that I already have going on.

FREELANCING IS MY REAL JOB - WHAT NOT TO SAY TO A FREELANCER

Most of my friends think I wake up at noon, tinker on the laptop for an hour before sauntering down to my local cafe for a Skinny Cappuccino. They are of the mind that the most stressful part of my day is when a splash of Almond milk finds its way onto my copy of Stylist magazine. When I tell them I clocked in over 80 hours this week and haven’t had a weekend since last year, I am met with a raised eyebrow.

MAKEUP ARTIST JOBS LONDON

Makeup Artist jobs in London are everywhere. From weddings, proms and Halloween to fashion, media and SFX, there are plenty of makeup jobs in London if you know where to look. However, if you are struggling to find makeup jobs, you’re not the only one!

FIVE OF THE UK'S TOP CO-WORKING SPACES

Top co-working spaces in the UK aren't hard to find in such a competitive market. However, it's tough to know which to choose. The number of freelancers in the UK has hit eye-watering figures, yet freelancing as a career path can be a lonely business. For this reason, the UK’s co-working industry has gone from strength to strength with 60% of co-working spaces planning expansion over the next year, according to a recent study by Deskmag. With so much choice, what's a freelancer to do?

HOW DO FREELANCE PARENTS DO IT?

Once you’ve wrapped your head around the financial support that expecting parents are entitled to, the reality of being a new parent while balancing a freelance career can start to sink in. Freelancers will know how hard it can be juggling a variety of clients and projects, so the thought of doing all of that with a baby in tow can be daunting, to say the least. But don’t fear. Having children while freelancing is manageable, and with a little organisation, it can even be a more balanced option than working full-time while being a new parent.
